Mangaka Kazumi Kazui is returning to the pages of Shogakukan’s Petit Comic magazine with a brand new series. Titled Anata no Koto ga Ki ni Iranai (I Do Not Fancy You), the project was announced in the magazine's September issue and is scheduled to begin serialization in the following issue on September 8.
The debut chapter is set to be a substantial 54-page installment, complete with a color opening page to mark the launch. The narrative centers on a protagonist who simply wants to lead an ordinary life, only to find her plans derailed by a suspicious journalist who begins tracking her every move.
Kazui is a veteran of the Petit Comic lineup, recently concluding the series Nest earlier this year in March, as well as Zesshoku Kareshi Kōryaku Seyo! in 2024. Beyond her original work, she is perhaps best known to international readers for her 2004 manga adaptation of Kyoichi Katayama’s novel Socrates in Love, which received an English-language release from Viz Media back in 2005.
