Author Yuhiro Tsujitsugu confirmed this week that Snowball Earth is moving into its final arc. The announcement, shared via the creator's social media, coincides with the series reaching a significant commercial milestone: the manga has now exceeded 1 million copies in circulation. To mark the occasion, Tsujitsugu released a commemorative illustration for fans.
The series, which launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits in 2021, follows pilot Tetsuo Yabusame as he returns from a long-term cryosleep to find Earth transformed into a frozen wasteland following a failed defense against extraterrestrial invaders. Shogakukan is set to release the 12th compiled volume on September 30, while Viz Media continues its English-language rollout with the 10th volume slated for December 15.
This news follows the successful debut of the series' anime adaptation, which premiered on NTV this past April. With a second season already greenlit, the franchise maintains a strong presence across media formats. Given the transition into the final arc, it remains to be seen how closely the upcoming animated episodes will align with the manga's concluding chapters.
