Spring 2026 will see the premiere of "Snowball Earth," a new anime adaptation from Studio KAI. The series ventures into the seinen, sci-fi, and mecha genres, promising a visually distinct experience with its full CGI format.
The story follows Tetsuo, who awakens from an eight-year cryogenic sleep to find Earth encased in ice. As the sole survivor of a catastrophic event, he must uncover the cause of the planet's frozen state and confront the ghosts of his past.
"Snowball Earth" is based on the manga of the same name, offering a built-in audience familiar with the source material's post-apocalyptic narrative. Studio KAI, known for its work on "The Promised Neverland" Season 2 and "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation" Part 2, will bring this frozen world to life.
