The second season of Skip and Loafer is officially set to arrive in April 2027, as revealed in a new teaser promotional video. Studio P.A.Works will once again handle the animation, continuing the adaptation of Misaki Takamatsu's celebrated manga series which currently boasts a cumulative 4.2 million copies in circulation.
While director Kotomi Deai returns to helm the project, the production team has seen several key additions. Youko Yonaiyama joins Deai for series composition, while the animation department gains new expertise with the addition of chief animation directors Reina Igawa and Yuusuke Inoue, alongside main animators Sara Sakoe, Hiroyuki Honda, and Chieko Sato. The production also features a revamped art and photography team, including art director Sou Senoo and director of photography Akane Ueda.
The series first gained widespread acclaim during its 12-episode debut in Spring 2023, where it became a standout hit for its grounded character work and vibrant animation. With the manga's 13th volume recently published by Kodansha and English releases continuing through Seven Seas Entertainment, momentum for the series remains high as viewers prepare for the next chapter of Mitsumi's journey.
