Physical editions of the suspense adventure game Shuten Order have seen their North American release date pushed back. Originally slated for April 23, both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 versions will now ship on April 30. The European release date for these physical copies is unaffected by the delay.
Developed by EXNOA and Too Kyo Games, Shuten Order arrived digitally in North America and Europe on September 5 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. A digital deluxe version is also available. Switch pre-orders included a prequel novel, Before the Murders case: Manji Fushicho, supervised by Kazutaka Kodaka.
The game presents a dark mystery set in a religious nation obsessed with apocalyptic beliefs, where the Founder is found brutally murdered. The narrative combines elements from five adventure games, focusing on suspense and intrigue. The story was penned by a team including Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE), Takumi Nakazawa (Ever 17), and Takekuni Kitayama (Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE). Illustrations are by simadoriru, with music composed by Masafumi Takada.
