The upcoming television adaptation of Horror Collector has tapped acclaimed singer-songwriter Shikao Suga to handle its musical identity. NHK confirmed that Suga has composed and performed both the opening and ending theme songs for the series, which is scheduled to premiere on NHK General this October.

Based on the novel series written by Midori Satō and supervised by Norio Tsuruta, Horror Collector follows a mysterious boy in a red hood who travels between towns to investigate genuine paranormal phenomena. While the internet is often flooded with fake cryptid sightings and urban legends, the story focuses on those who discover that these tales carry terrifying, real-world weight.

Kadokawa began publishing the original novels in 2015, with the series reaching its 28th volume as of May 2024. The franchise also saw a manga adaptation by Niko Yuki, which ran in Monthly Comic Gene between 2021 and 2022. International audiences can access the source material through Yen Press, which publishes both the novels and the manga under its JY for Kids imprint.
