A new promotional video has arrived for the upcoming anime film SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: CLOUDY BEACH. The video showcases fresh footage, accompanying an updated visual that was also unveiled by the film's staff.
The movie continues the story from the television anime, picking up after Yuuki has overcome a significant jinx that impacts player survival rates. This new arc sees Yuuki participating in a deadly game called "Cloudy Beach" alongside seven other players on a remote island. Among them is someone Yuuki knows, adding a personal stake to the high-stakes competition.
Chiyuki Miura reprises her role as Yuuki, with Yume Miyamoto as Airi, Anna Nagase as Essei, Yukari Tamura as Koyomi, Konomi Inagaki as Hizumi, Aino Shimada as Maguma, Riko Akechi as Mitsuba, and Hikaru Tōno as Mozuku rounding out the cast. The film is directed by Sōta Ueno at Studio DEEN, with Rintarou Ikeda handling series composition and Eri Osada on character designs.
The SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table light novel series, which the anime adapts, was recognized for its quality, winning an Excellence Award and ranking high in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings. The film is set to have a limited two-week theatrical run in Japan starting July 10.
