Shakugan no Shana: Blaze Edge, the new browser game based on Yashichiro Takahashi's fantasy light novel series, has unveiled its first gameplay video. The footage offers a glimpse at the title's mechanics and features new voice lines for the titular character, Shana, brought to life once again by Rie Kugimiya.

The game is being developed as a free-to-play title with optional in-app purchases. It is slated for release in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, expanding its accessibility.

The Shakugan no Shana light novels, which began in 2002 with illustrations by Noizi Itō, concluded their main run in 2011. The franchise has since seen continued stories, with a new volume, Shakugan no Shana SIV, launching in November 2023, marking the first new volume in over a decade. The novels previously inspired three anime television series, the last of which, Shakugan no Shana III (Final), aired in 2011 and adapted the original story's conclusion.
