Shaft will be animating the upcoming television anime adaptation of Tsumuji Yoshimura's romance manga, Seibetsu "Mona Lisa" no Kimi e. (Just Like Mona Lisa). An official website launched Wednesday, confirming the studio's involvement and revealing a teaser visual.

The series is based on Yoshimura's manga, which ran on Square Enix's Gangan Online platform from May 2018 until its conclusion in December 2022. The manga has achieved significant popularity, with over 1 million copies in circulation.

Details regarding the main cast and a teaser promotional video are slated for release on August 1 at the AnimagiC 2026 convention. Comikey and Square Enix jointly licensed the manga for English release in September 2023.

The story centers on Hinase Arima, who, unlike everyone else, has not experienced a gender change by their 18th birthday. As their final year of high school approaches, Hinase faces an unexpected dilemma when both of their childhood friends, Ritsu Kaga and Shiori Takayama, confess their romantic feelings on the same day, forcing Hinase to confront their own identity and desires.
