A remake of the beloved 1998 dating simulation game Sentimental Graffiti is officially in production, Entergram announced during a Weekly Famitsu 40th-anniversary live stream. The project aims to modernize the classic title with updated graphics and gameplay mechanics while retaining the original character designs. Some scenarios will be adjusted to better fit contemporary sensibilities.
Original illustrator Tomohisa Kai has drawn a new key visual for the remake, titled Sentimental Graffiti Re. While the core elements are preserved, the remake will feature an entirely new cast. Similar to the original game's casting process, open auditions are being held for the roles of six heroines. Applications are currently being accepted on the remake's official website until July 31, with no prior experience necessary.
The original Sentimental Graffiti was released by NEC Interchannel on the Sega Saturn in 1998, later receiving ports to Windows and PlayStation. Its popularity led to the 1998 anime television series Sentimental Journey, produced by Sunrise and directed by Kazuyoshi Katayama.
