Sega has revealed a unique commemorative item for the 35th anniversary of its iconic Sonic the Hedgehog franchise: a figure containing actual synthetic DNA. This groundbreaking figure was created by Lom Baby, a collective of artists, engineers, and scientists, utilizing advanced biotechnology.
The synthesized DNA within the figure incorporates sequences associated with a male hedgehog, the character's signature blue coloration, leg strength, rapid reaction speed, a sense of adventure, and the ability to perform a spin-dash. These genetic blueprints are housed in a protective capsule embedded within a green crystal at the core of the figure.
Fans will have the opportunity to see this unusual collectible firsthand. The Sonic the Hedgehog DNA Figure is slated for a limited display at the Sega Store Tokyo, located on the sixth floor of the Shibuya Parco complex, beginning June 23. At this time, Sega has not disclosed whether the figure will be made available for public purchase.
