Scholastic is deepening its commitment to the legacy of Osamu Tezuka, announcing a slate of five new titles under its Graphix imprint. The publisher is partnering once again with Tezuka Productions to reimagine classic works, specifically targeting Atomcat, Princess Knight, The Three-eyed One, Triton of the Sea, and Zero Man.
Writer Samuel Sattin, who currently helms the publisher's Unico: Awakening adaptation, will return to spearhead this expansion. Similar to the collaborative approach used for his previous work, these new titles will pair Sattin’s scripts with Japanese artists to maintain a distinct visual identity for each series.
This announcement follows the momentum of the ongoing Unico: Awakening series, which debuted in 2024 and is slated to conclude with its eighth volume. While the Unico project faced localized distribution challenges in 2024 after being pulled from a North Carolina school district following parental complaints, Scholastic continues to push forward with its broader strategy of modernizing Tezuka’s extensive catalog for the North American market.
