Sanrio is expanding its digital footprint with the announcement of Sanrio Kawaii Me Live!, a new rhythm game slated for a global smartphone release in January 2027. The title marks the first major mobile gaming project from the Sanrio Games brand, which was established earlier this year in April. A concept trailer released alongside the announcement highlights the game's focus on rhythm mechanics, character customization, and stage design.

The game will feature an extensive roster of Sanrio’s most recognizable mascots, including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, My Melody, and Kuromi. To bolster its musical identity, the project has secured collaborations with a diverse group of artists and bands, such as ZUTOMAYO, Polkadot Stingray, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan, SHE'S, Soala, Lienel, and Mi'Line Hearts.

Pre-registration for the title is now open for interested players. While Sanrio has a long history of character-based media and merchandise, this move represents a more direct push into the global mobile rhythm game market. It remains to be seen how the game’s mechanics will differentiate it from existing rhythm titles, but the inclusion of high-profile musical acts suggests a significant investment in the project's audio experience.
