Saga of Tanya the Evil II, the anticipated second season of the military fantasy series, is set to premiere on July 8. The announcement comes with the reveal of the returning musical artists for its theme songs and a new accompanying mini-anime series.
The band MYTH&ROID is back to perform the opening theme, titled "Why? RED induction." Aoi Yūki, reprising her role as Tanya Degurechaff, will sing the ending theme "Weiter! Weiter!" with lyrics by hotaru and music by Masayuki Nakano.
The series will debut on AT-X at 9:30 p.m. JST, with subsequent broadcasts on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and TV Aichi. Following the main series, a mini-anime titled "Yōjo Shenki 2" will air immediately after each episode on AT-X. These shorts will also be available for streaming on the Kadokawa Anime Channel on YouTube starting the following Thursday at midnight JST.
Takayuki Yamamoto steps in as the new director for the season, taking the helm at studio NUT, which also animated the first season. Kenta Ihara returns to handle series scripts, and Yuji Hosogoe is back as character designer and chief animation director. The returning voice cast includes Aoi Yūki, Saori Hayami, Shinichirō Miki, Tesshō Genda, Hōchū Ōtsuka, Daiki Hamano, Yūsuke Kobayashi, Jun Kasama, Daichi Hayashi, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Haruka Tomatsu, with new additions Tomokazu Sugita and Yōko Hikasa.
