To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Saga of Tanya the Evil anime, Kadokawa has announced a special film concert scheduled for March 20. The event, taking place at the Ota Civic Hall Aprico in Tokyo, will feature a live orchestra performing the series' iconic soundtrack while screening pivotal moments from the television anime and the 2019 feature film.

The production promises a unique experience by incorporating live voice acting from key cast members, including Aoi Yūki (Tanya Degurechaff), Daiki Hamano (Weiss), Haruka Tomatsu (Mary Sue), and Yūsuke Kobayashi (Grantz). Additionally, the musical group MYTH & ROID, known for their contributions to the franchise’s opening and ending themes, will appear as special guests to round out the anniversary celebration.

This concert arrives as the franchise continues its current run with the second season, which premiered in July. While the series maintains a strong following, current database snapshots show a varied reception across platforms, with AniList users currently rating the franchise at 80/100. The ongoing second season is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll, which also hosts the original 2017 series and the 2019 film.

With the concert focusing on a retrospective of the entire decade, it remains to be seen if this event will serve as a capstone for the current production cycle or a bridge to further franchise developments. Given the involvement of the core voice cast, which performance segment are you most looking forward to seeing translated into a live orchestral format?
