Yu Tomofuji, the creator behind the popular manga Sacrificial Princess & the King of Beasts, is launching a new series titled Kimi o Norowaba (If I Curse You). The announcement was made in Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume magazine, with the first chapter set to appear in the magazine's next issue on July 27.
The new manga follows Yachimaru Shijō, a young individual who takes on work for Tsubaki Tsukumo, the head of the Tsukumo family, which specializes in casting curses. Despite being frequently ordered around by the unpleasant Tsubaki, Yachimaru remains at the Tsukumo residence to fulfill a personal objective.
Tomofuji's previous work, Sacrificial Princess & the King of Beasts, concluded its run in October 2020 after 15 volumes. The manga has achieved significant success, with 2.1 million copies in circulation, including digital sales. Its popularity led to a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by J.C.Staff, which aired its first cour in April 2023 and its second in July 2023. The anime was streamed worldwide outside of Asia by Crunchyroll. A stage play adaptation also premiered in 2024, and a spinoff manga, White Rabbit and the Prince of Beasts, concluded its serialization earlier this year.
