Greenwich Entertainment has unveiled an English-subtitled trailer and a poster for Jinsei (Mumei no Jinsei), the debut feature film from independent director Ryūya Suzuki. The film is set to premiere in New York theaters on June 5, followed by a nationwide rollout on June 12.
The film chronicles a hundred-year journey of a hero, voiced by rapper ACE COOL, who adopts different identities across various life stages—from J-pop idol to leader and oracle. Written, directed, and entirely hand-drawn by Suzuki himself over eighteen months, Jinsei is presented as a showcase for his distinct talent in independent animation. The cast also includes Taketo Tanaka, Shōhei Uno, Remi Tyon, Ryōtarō Nishino, Katsuya Maiguma, Kanji Tsuda, Miho Ōhashi, Ayumu Nakajima, Eri Kamataki, and Tsubaki Nekoze.
Suzuki handled multiple key creative roles, including animation director, art director, editor, and composer, with Kenji Iwaisawa (director of ON-GAKU: Our Sound) serving as producer. The film, distributed by Rock 'n' Roll Mountain, previously opened in Japan in May 2025 and has been screened at international festivals such as the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Suzuki's independent animation background includes his award-winning shorts "Mahoroba" and "Lawless Love," the latter of which received the Japan Grand Prix at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival in 2022. Source: Email correspondence
