Nippon Ichi Software’s cult-classic musical RPG, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, is now available on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Hamster Corporation released the title on July 9 as the newest entry in its Console Archives Series, a project dedicated to bringing legacy titles to contemporary platforms with updated features.

Originally released on the PlayStation in 1998, the game became a staple of the era for its distinct fusion of turn-based tactical combat and narrative-driven musical sequences. This latest release serves as a bridge for players to revisit the origins of the Marl Kingdom series, following various re-releases over the years, such as the 2008 Nintendo DS port and the 2022 Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 3 compilation.

The Console Archives version integrates specific quality-of-life improvements designed to modernize the experience for current hardware. This release follows the 2023 international launch of Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles, which finally brought the sequels Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom to English-speaking territories on modern platforms.
