The television anime adaptation of Chie Shinohara's shōjo manga Red River has unveiled seven more cast members along with its July 7 premiere date. The series will begin airing on NTV's "AnichU" programming block on July 7 at 25:35, which translates to July 8 at 1:35 a.m. BS NTV will also carry the show starting on July 8.
Joining the previously announced voice cast are Tomohiro Ōno as Kikkuri, Shiki Aoki as Hadi, Natsumi Kawaida as Ryui, Misato Matsuoka as Shala, Haruki Ishiya as Kash, Junya Enoki as Rusafa, and Shinichirō Kamio as Mittannamuwa. These additions flesh out the supporting cast for the historical fantasy narrative.
Previously revealed cast members include Mirai Tachibana as protagonist Yuri and Wataru Katō as Prince Kail. The production is helmed by director Kōsuke Kobayashi at Tatsunoko Production, with Yoriko Tomita handling series scripts and Kenji Fujisaki designing the characters. Yoshihisa Hirano is composing the music.
Red River follows Yuri, a modern Japanese high school student who is mysteriously transported to ancient Anatolia. There, she becomes entangled in the political struggles of the Hittite Empire. Viz Media has published the manga in English, with a new omnibus re-release currently underway.
