Pokémon Pokopia has officially surpassed 5 million units sold globally, reaching the milestone just four months after its March 5 release. The cozy life-simulation title, developed by Koei Tecmo, has proven to be a significant success for the platform, utilizing the unique Game-Key Card format for its physical distribution on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Support for the title is expanding rapidly, with the first part of the paid Expansion Pass introducing the underwater Bubbly Basin region earlier this month. Alongside this paid content, a substantial free update has arrived, granting players the ability to dive and build in existing towns. This update also added a diverse roster of water-type Pokémon to the game, including Manaphy, Mudkip, and Totodile, among others.

The game continues to distinguish itself from the mainline series by introducing unique regional variants, such as Professor Tangrowth, Peakychu, Mosslax, and Smearguru. Players can look forward to further content drops, with additional accessories slated for late 2026 and a third town expansion arriving in 2027. These updates follow a busy year for the franchise, which also saw the release of Pokémon Champions earlier this summer.
