Pen to Wappa to Jijitsukon (A Pen, Handcuffs, and a Common-Law Marriage) is officially heading to the small screen, with the production committee confirming a January 2027 premiere. To mark the announcement, the studio released a teaser promotional video and visual, offering a first glimpse at the series' mystery-romance aesthetic.

The lead roles have been cast with industry veterans Tomoaki Maeno (known for Skeleton Knight in Another World) stepping into the role of Eiji Kirisame, and Inori Minase (Dead Mount Death Play) voicing Tsugumi Kuchinashi. The production is being handled by EMT Squared, with Takaaki Ishiyama, known for his work on Rinkai!, serving as director.

Rounding out the core staff, Shigeru Murakoshi is overseeing series composition, while Miyuki Nakamura handles character design. The musical score is being composed by Kana Hashiguchi, with Hiroto Morishita serving as sound director.

Based on the manga written by Shinichi Sawaragi and illustrated by Tank Gasuyama, the series has been a staple of Young Animal magazine since late 2022. International audiences can look forward to the English release of the source material, which is currently being published by Yen Press.
