Good Smile Company and developer Chime Corporation have confirmed that Patlabor the Case Files will arrive on September 17. The upcoming 3D action title brings the classic mecha franchise to current-gen hardware, with the announcement accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the gameplay and mechanical design.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, featuring full support for multiple languages including English, Japanese, and various Chinese dialects. Players will engage in missions from both the hero and adversary perspectives, with scenarios drawing directly from the anime’s narrative. The title boasts a roster of over 20 distinct Labors, ensuring a deep dive into the series' industrial robot combat.
To ensure authenticity, the project is under the direct supervision of original Headgear creative unit members. Yutaka Izubuchi is overseeing mechanical design, Kazunori Itō is handling the script, and Akemi Takada is managing character animation. This attention to detail comes as the franchise enjoys a resurgence, with the theatrical release of the eight-episode Patlabor EZY project currently rolling out through 2027.
