Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a new animated short series for its iconic Pac-Man franchise, titled 'Pac-Man: Snack Breaks.' The first episode is set to premiere on May 22, celebrated annually as Pac-Man Day, via the franchise's official YouTube channel. Following this debut, new installments will be released on a monthly basis.

A teaser trailer offering a glimpse into the new shorts has been unveiled. The series is directed by Noah Pardo and produced by New York-based studio Cartuna, with James Belfer, Adam Belfer, Monica Mazel, Garrett Beltis, and Ben Bishop serving as lead producers. The voice cast features Mike Cefalo as Pac-Man and Inky, Mike Bodie as Blinky, Rebecca Wang as Pinky, and Lukas Arnold as Clyde. The shorts will follow Pac-Man as he ventures from PAC-Village to New Pac-City, with his spectral adversaries—Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde—in pursuit.

In addition to the series launch, Bandai Namco Entertainment is commemorating Pac-Man's 45th anniversary with an event on May 16. This event will include a special screening and panel for the new animated shorts ahead of their official debut. The festivities align with the "45 Years of PAC-MAN” exhibition currently running at The Paley Museum. To further celebrate, the Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac game will receive a free Pac-Man costume on the franchise's birthday.

The Pac-Man franchise, which began with its groundbreaking arcade game in 1980, has expanded over the years, including the Pac-World television anime series in 2013. Recent game releases like the remake Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac and the reimagining Shadow Labyrinth have kept the character in the spotlight, alongside an adult animated Pac-Man episode featured in the anthology series LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS.
