The Overlord [Shin] Sekai-hen (Overlord [New] World Arc) manga has officially entered a hiatus. Artist Matsuki shared the news via their X/Twitter account on Wednesday, citing a need for medical recovery and rest following a recent hospitalization. No return date for the series has been provided at this time.

Launched in April 2024 within the pages of Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine, the series has reached four compiled volumes, with the most recent released in March 2026. The narrative picks up directly from the previous manga adaptation by Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Ōshio, specifically following the events of the 10th light novel volume where Ainz Ooal Gown establishes his magical kingdom after the conflict on the Katze Plains.

This spin-off remains a significant piece of the broader Overlord franchise, which continues to see activity across multiple formats. While the original light novel series by Kugane Maruyama is approaching its conclusion with the planned 18th volume, the anime side of the franchise saw the release of the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom film in 2024. With the manga now on hold, readers are left waiting for further updates from Matsuki regarding the production schedule.
