Crunchyroll has confirmed that its adaptation of the webtoon Overgeared will receive a same-day English dub, with the first episode arriving on the platform on September 27. The dub production, directed by Emily Fajardo, features Ricco Fajardo in the lead role of Grid, supported by Alexis Tipton as Irene and Morgan Lauré as Yura.
The series follows the story of Youngwoo Shin, a struggling individual who finds his life transformed after discovering a legendary blacksmithing tome within the virtual reality game Satisfy. The project is directed by Ayako Kōno at J.C. Staff, with EGG FIRM producing. Kenta Ihara is overseeing the series scripts, while Yoshiaki Fujisawa handles the musical score. The opening theme, "SATISFY," is performed by the rock band Re:name, and the ending theme, "Ray of Emotion," is performed by virtual singer TAO.
While the English dub debuts on September 27, the Japanese television broadcast is scheduled to begin on October 2 across Tokyo MX and BS11. The source material, originally a web novel by Sae Nal Park, has seen significant reach in English through Yen Press's Ize Press label and digital platforms like Tapas. With the dub arriving ahead of the Japanese broadcast, which of the newly announced cast members are you most interested to hear in their respective roles?
