One Piece will return to the airwaves in 2027, following the conclusion of its current broadcast run. The announcement comes as the series prepares to vacate its long-standing Sunday 11:15 p.m. timeslot on Fuji TV, which will be occupied by the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus starting October 11.

This hiatus is part of a broader production strategy implemented by Toei Animation and producer Ryūta Koike. Since 2026, the studio has capped the annual output of the series at 26 episodes to prioritize pacing and visual quality, moving away from the weekly broadcast model that defined the show since its 1999 debut. The current Elbaph arc, which premiered in April 2026, follows the conclusion of the Egghead arc and a three-month production break earlier that year.

While fans await the 2027 return, the Sunday slot will feature the "enhanced" edition of the Dragon Ball Super saga. This new project promises a complete reconstruction of the story, featuring re-rendered footage, new cuts, and updated audio production to better align with Akira Toriyama’s original vision. With the shift in the broadcast schedule, it remains to be seen how the reduced episode count will influence the pacing of the remaining Elbaph arc chapters when the series resumes.
