The world of One Piece is getting a brick-based makeover this fall. Netflix has confirmed a two-part animated special, Lego One Piece, set to arrive on the platform on September 29. The project adopts a unique framing device, featuring a LEGO-styled Usopp recounting the Straw Hats' early adventures to a miniature LEGO Chopper, effectively retelling the narrative arc covered in the first two seasons of the live-action series.
A newly released trailer showcases the stylized animation and confirms that the primary cast from the live-action adaptation is returning to voice their blocky counterparts. Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar will reprise their roles as Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji, respectively. They are joined by Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Callum Kerr as Smoker.
Production is being handled by Atomic Cartoons, known for their work on Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends, in collaboration with Shueisha and The LEGO Group. Tom Hyndman is spearheading the special as showrunner and writer, with Chelsea Ker directing. Series creator Eiichiro Oda remains closely involved, serving as an executive producer alongside representatives from Tomorrow Studios and LEGO.
This special arrives as the live-action franchise continues to expand its footprint on Netflix. Following the success of the first two seasons, the platform has already set its sights on the next chapter, One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, which is slated for a 2027 release. The LEGO collaboration further extends the brand's reach, building upon the physical LEGO sets that first hit shelves in August 2025.
