The first promotional video for the upcoming Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. anime adaptation has been released, offering a glimpse at the series' cast and confirming an October television debut. The clip showcases the voice actors set to bring the comedy manga to life.
Leading the cast is Kazuyuki Okitsu as Mitsutaka Oji, the 40-year-old office worker with a secret love for all things cute. He is joined by Miyu Tomita as Pugtaro, Fūka Izumi as Bosskichi, Yurie Funato as Anne, Asami Tano as Carrie, and Hinata Satō as Greapy.
Directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS is Tomoe Makino, known for his work on Kotaro Lives Alone. Yū Satō handles series composition, and Tomomi Kimura is designing the characters. The production also features Takamasa Nakakuki as art director, Akira Hashigami as color key artist, Tomoya Hosaka as director of photography, and Kiyomi Yamada as editor. Sound direction is by Fumihiko Ōtera, with music composed by Arisa Okehazama.
The manga, launched by Tsutomu on Flex Comics' Comic Polis in 2017, centers on Mitsutaka Oji, a seemingly cool and competent man who harbors a deep affection for small, adorable items. The story follows his daily life as he navigates this hidden passion. A live-action adaptation of the series also aired in 2020.
