The whimsical and macabre world of Aito Aoyagi’s Akazukin, Tabi no Tochuu de Shitai to Deau. is officially making the jump to television. Pony Canyon has unveiled a teaser visual and promotional video confirming the project, which is currently slated for a 2027 premiere. The series, which reimagines classic fairytale tropes through a detective-mystery lens, follows Little Red Riding Hood as she stumbles upon crime scenes involving iconic characters like Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel.

The production features Yume Miyamoto in the lead role of Little Red Riding Hood, joined by Akira Sekine as Pinocchio. The staff is led by director and screenwriter Itsurou Kawasaki, known for his work on The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil. Animation duties are being handled by studio BENTEN Film, with character designs provided by the duo of Manami Minakata and Yuuko Yahiro.

This adaptation builds on the success of Aoyagi's original novel series, which debuted in 2020 and concluded its fourth volume in 2025. The franchise also saw a manga adaptation by Kanoka Tana, which ran for two years across Monthly Action and Web Action before wrapping up in mid-2025. With a cumulative circulation of 600,000 copies, the property has established a solid fanbase that will now see the detective-fairytale crossover fully realized on screen.
