Yadoya no Oinu-sama centers on Kasumi Kuromine, a middle school student living in the countryside. The premise kicks off with a dramatic turn of events during a school field trip, where Kasumi survives a fall down a mountainside. To mark the announcement, the authors shared a preview illustration on their official social media channels, signaling a shift in tone from their previous work.
This new project follows the conclusion of the duo's signature series, Noragami: Stray God, which wrapped up its 14-year run in January 2024. While Noragami remains a staple of the supernatural genre—boasting two anime seasons produced by studio BONES and multiple stage play adaptations—this upcoming launch marks the first major original work from the pair since the final volume of Noragami shipped in February 2024.
