Manga artist Adachitoka is set to return to the pages of Monthly Shounen Magazine with a brand-new series, Yadoya no Oinu-sama (The Inn's Noble Dog). The announcement, shared via the creator's social media, confirms a launch date of October 6, 2026. This project marks the artist's first major serialization since the long-running hit Noragami wrapped up its final chapter earlier this year.
The story centers on Kuromine Kasumi, a student whose school trip takes a supernatural turn after a fall down a mountainside. She finds herself in an unfamiliar realm overseen by a mysterious, dog-like spirit. The premise promises a shift from the urban deity dynamics of their previous work toward a new fantasy setting.
Adachitoka's previous work, Noragami, remains a significant title in the industry, having reached over 8 million copies in circulation by the time its 27th and final volume was released. The series gained further prominence through its two-season anime adaptation produced by studio Bones, which aired in 2014 and 2015. With the conclusion of that decade-long run, the industry is watching to see if this new title will capture a similar audience interest in the shonen market.
