NIS America pulled back the curtain on The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes during the most recent Sony State of Play event. This upcoming 3D action roguelite draws from the light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa, offering a fresh take on the franchise's combat. The debut trailer highlights fast-paced action sequences and confirms that players can step into the roles of Shadow, Alpha, and Delta, utilizing a unique 'Awakening' system to modify character abilities.

The project is currently slated for a 2027 release across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms, including both Steam and the Epic Games Store. This announcement arrives as the franchise prepares for a busy year, with the feature film The Eminence in Shadow - Lost Echoes also expected to debut in 2027.

This console-focused title follows the 2022 release of the mobile and PC game The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden, which was localized by Crunchyroll Games. While the series has seen extensive adaptation across print and television, Phantom Echoes represents a shift toward more traditional action-oriented gameplay. With the film and this new title both arriving in the same year, the franchise is poised for a significant expansion of its multimedia footprint.
