Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden is set for a substantial debut, with production staff confirming a two-cour broadcast run for the upcoming anime adaptation. The announcement arrived alongside a second promotional video, which provides a fresh look at the series and features the opening theme song, "Respawn!!," performed by VTuber Tsunomaki Watame.
Joining the previously announced cast are four new additions: KΕichi Sakaguchi as Bendelio, Junichi Suwabe as Hyurence Altoire, Maaya Uchida as Sharro White, and Kazuyuki Okitsu as Asuma. They join a production led by director Motoki Nakanishi at KONAMI animation, with series scripts handled by Gigaemon Ichikawa.
The series, based on the light novels by Umikaze Minamino, follows a legendary warrior who finds herself reincarnated into the frail body of Nia Liston, forcing her to train from scratch to reclaim her combat prowess. Following an advance screening of the first three episodes on September 22, the series will officially premiere on October 6 on Tokyo MX, with HIDIVE handling the international streaming release.
While the anime adaptation is just beginning, the franchise has already built a significant footprint. Beyond the original web novel and the Hobby Japan print releases, the story received a manga adaptation by Kabuto Kodai in 2022, which is currently available in English via Square Enix's Manga UP! Global service. With a six-month window ahead, the production has plenty of time to adapt the source material's progression.
