The Ranma 1/2 revival continues its momentum, with the production team confirming a return for the third season on October 3. The series will air on NTV before moving to its exclusive streaming home on Netflix immediately following the broadcast.
Alongside the release date, the production unveiled a new key visual and a wave of fresh talent joining the voice cast. Industry icon Masako Nozawa will voice the Grand Master, while Jun Fukuyama is set to play Sentarō Daimonji. Additionally, Minami Tanaka has been cast as Tsubasa Kurenai. The production also teased roles for Mayumi Tanaka and Saori Hayami, though their characters remain under wraps for now.
Studio MAPPA continues to lead the project, with director Kōnosuke Uda returning to helm the production. The animation team sees a blend of returning and new expertise; while Yoshiko Saitō and Kōsuke Kawamura return as chief animation directors, they are joined by Riko Kaneda and Haruki Miura. Notably, the production is leaning into its legacy, bringing on Atsuko Ishida—who served as a key animator on the original 1989 series—to help define the visual direction of this latest installment.
