The third season of the Ranma 1/2 revival has unveiled its third promotional video, offering a first listen to the upcoming season's musical lineup. The trailer highlights the opening theme, "Sunao Miman" by Fumino, and the ending theme, "Kawaikunai" by Yuika. This latest look at the production confirms the series' continued momentum following its 2024 debut.
Production remains anchored at studio MAPPA with director Kōnosuke Uda returning to helm the project. The animation team sees a blend of returning talent and new additions, including chief animation directors Yoshiko Saitō, Kōsuke Kawamura, Riko Kaneda, and Haruki Miura. The cast is also expanding for this arc, with Masako Nozawa joining as Grand Master, Jun Fukuyama as Sentarō Daimonji, and Minami Tanaka as Tsubasa Kurenai. Comedian Seiya of Shimofuri Myojo will also join the project as a guest star and promotional ambassador.
The series is scheduled to premiere on NTV on October 3, with exclusive streaming to follow on Netflix. A special advanced screening event is set for the same day at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba, featuring appearances by voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi, Noriko Hidaka, and Kōichi Yamadera.
With the third season arriving just one year after the second, the rapid production cycle highlights the studio's commitment to Rumiko Takahashi's classic franchise. While the first season established the modern visual identity of the series, the addition of veteran animators like Atsuko Ishida—who worked on the original 1989 adaptation—suggests a deliberate effort to bridge the gap between the new production and the series' long-standing history.
