The upcoming Magic Knight Rayearth anime project shared a significant update during a special stage event at KyoMAF this past Sunday. A second main promotional video debuted, offering a first listen to the series' theme songs: Toaka performs the opening track, "Otome no Tsurugi," while Yurina Kawaguchi provides the ending theme, "Hoshiakari."
Beyond the music, the production confirmed a substantial commitment to the story's pacing, announcing that the series will run for two consecutive cours. This half-year broadcast schedule kicks off on October 7, airing via the "IMAnimation W" programming block on TV Asahi and its affiliated stations.
The update also expanded the voice cast, adding Mamiko Noto as Alcione, Ayumu Murase as Ascot, Hitomi Ueda as Caldina, and Hiroki Yasumoto as Lafarga. These actors join a previously announced ensemble that includes Ayane Sakura, Rumi ลkubo, and Rie Takahashi as the central trio of Hikaru, Umi, and Fลซ.
This new production, helmed by director Yui Miura at E&H production, serves as a modern adaptation of the seminal 1993 manga by CLAMP. While the original 1994 television anime remains a staple of 90s fantasy, this project marks the first major return to the Cephiro storyline in decades. With the premiere date now confirmed, the focus shifts to how this new iteration will adapt the source material's classic narrative beats for a contemporary broadcast audience.
