The new Fist of the North Star anime has added Kazuya Ichijō to its voice cast. Ichijō will portray Fang Father, the leader of the Fang clan, with his debut scheduled for the anime's 12th episode this weekend. This CG-based adaptation aims to remain faithful to Tetsuo Hara's original manga.

The series stars Shunsuke Takeuchi as the legendary warrior Kenshiro, who wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland protecting the weak. The extensive cast also includes Daiki Yamashita as Bat, M.A.O as Rin, and Taiten Kusunoki as Kenshiro's rival Raoh. Animation duties are handled by TMS Entertainment, with Hiroshi Maeda directing and Yūki Hayashi composing the music.

Fist of the North Star premiered on April 10th and is available globally via Amazon Prime Video. The anime's production is a collaboration between NIA Animation and Kishida Studio BACU. The opening theme is performed by Alexandros, while Toshl provides the ending theme, a remix of the classic "Ai o Torimodose!!".

This new anime commemorates the 40th anniversary of the iconic manga, which originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988. The franchise has a rich history, including multiple anime series, films, and ongoing manga spin-offs, such as Hiroshi Kurao's "Elegy for the Henchmen: Fist of the North Star" which recently received a short anime adaptation.
