Manga legend Naoki Urasawa has lent his artistic talents to the acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, directing and animating the music video for their new single, "MONster." The video, which premiered today, showcases a timelapse of Urasawa creating the single's cover art.

Gabriela Quintero shared her excitement, noting the song's thematic connection to Urasawa's acclaimed manga of the same name. She described Urasawa's "Monster" as a profound story about a psychopathic killer that ultimately offers hope, a sentiment that resonated with the duo even before Urasawa revealed himself to be a fan.

"MONster" will be featured on Rodrigo y Gabriela's upcoming album, OurHome, scheduled for release on September 18 via ATO Records. The original Monster manga by Naoki Urasawa was serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic imprint from 1994 to 2001. It received a television anime adaptation in 2004 from Madhouse, which was later released in North America by Viz Media.
