Nao Iwamoto's fantasy romance manga, The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom (Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi), is set to receive a television anime adaptation. The series will premiere on NHK Educational in October. A teaser video has been released, though it does not feature animation.

Kiyoko Sayama, known for her work on Vampire Knight and To Your Eternity seasons 2-3, is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Shinzō Fujita is handling scriptwriting and series supervision, with character designs by Yuriko Maeda. Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music, and Jin Aketagawa serves as sound director.

The manga, which launched in Shogakukan's Flowers magazine in 2016, centers on seven knight brothers from the Marronnier Kingdom. Each brother is dispatched as an ambassador to one of eight surrounding kingdoms to find their destined partner. The series was recognized in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook as a top manga for female readers. Shogakukan will release the 11th volume of the manga on June 10.

Nao Iwamoto's previous work, Kingdom of Gold, Kingdom of Water, inspired a film released in January 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes that manga in English. Source: Anime News Network
