The television anime adaptation of My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked is set to expand its roster with two new additions. NBC Universal confirmed that Hiroki Nanami and Nao Tōyama will join the voice cast for the series' eighth episode, which arrives on August 26.
Nanami is slated to portray the student council president, Sadame Mikuriya, while Tōyama will step into the role of the council’s vice-president, Hachi Ura. These newcomers join a production led by director Keisuke Inoue at Studio NEWON, which has been bringing Otsuji’s subversion of the Cinderella fairy tale to life since its premiere in early July.
The series, which explores the surprisingly wholesome dynamic between Miya Nakamura and her new family, is currently available to domestic audiences through various streaming platforms, including U-NEXT and the "It's Anime" YouTube channel. With the manga currently reaching its 10th volume, the anime continues to adapt the heartfelt, comedic source material that has garnered attention for its departure from traditional "wicked stepmother" tropes.
