The television anime adaptation of Otsuji's manga My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked has unveiled a main promotional video, confirming a July 8 debut. The trailer also introduces additional cast members and previews the show's theme songs.

Lia is set to perform the opening theme "Amayadori no Shōkei" (Longing to Take Shelter From the Rain), while AVAM will perform the ending theme "Claire." The newly released trailer showcases both tracks.

Joining the previously announced cast are Miyari Nemoto as Yaeko Kōzō, Yumi Uchiyama as Nago, and M.A.O as Mitsuya. The series stars Hina Suzuki as Miya Nakamura, Kujira as Teru Kōnokura, Yū Serizawa as Marika Kōnokura, Yuka Nukui as Arisa Kōnokura, and Anna Mugiho as Gungnir.

Directed by Keisuke Inoue at studio NEWON, the anime features character designs by Mutsumi Sasaki. Nanami Hoshino is handling series scripts, and Toshiki Kameyama is the sound director. The anime will begin airing on July 8 at 11:30 p.m. on TV Kanagawa, TV Saitama, and Chiba TV, with subsequent broadcasts on MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS Asahi. Japanese streaming will also commence on July 8 via U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and Anime Times, with wider availability to follow a week later.

Seven Seas publishes the manga in English, describing it as a comedic reimagining of the Cinderella story where an illegitimate daughter expects a life of hardship but instead finds a welcoming stepmother and stepsisters. The manga originally launched on Ichijinsha's Comic POOL digital magazine in November 2020.
