Kadokawa has dropped the main promotional video for the upcoming My Happy Marriage anime special, giving viewers a preview of the opening theme, "Shiawase de Namida ga Deru no wa," performed by Riria. The trailer also confirms the return of lead voice actors Reina Ueda and Kaito Ishikawa, who continue their roles as Miyo and Kudo, alongside the introduction of M.A.O as the new character Kimio Nagaba.
The special is scheduled for a three-episode drop on October 25. It will hit TV Tokyo at 7:00 p.m. JST, with a streaming release on Netflix and other platforms following at 8:30 p.m. JST. Behind the scenes, Takehiro Kubota is back in the director's chair at Kinema Citrus, bringing with him a returning core staff including composer Evan Call. The ending theme, "Prelude no Temae ni: for me&you," will be provided by Kashitarō Itō.
This project follows a steady stream of content for the franchise, which began with the 2023 television series and continued with the "Shiawase no Katachi" OVA released earlier in 2024. With the second season having concluded its run in early 2025, this special offers a swift return to the world of Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka’s light novels. Given the rapid succession of the OVA and this new special, it remains to be seen if these episodic releases will continue to bridge the gap between major television seasons.
