The TV anime adaptation of Jura's My Girlfriend's Friend manga has released its first teaser promotional video and a second key visual, alongside announcing additional staff. The anime is slated for an October debut.
The cast includes Ryūga Nagaike as Takeru, Sayahana Hanemurasaki as Kaori, and Miki Hase as Tomoko. The series is being directed by Takashi Andō at Studio Quad, with WWWave Corporation credited as producer and Deregula handling production. Gokō Shiraki is writing and supervising the scripts, while Ryūji Iwata serves as character designer and chief animation director alongside Akira Koshiishi and Konatsu Kumagai.
Jura's original manga began serialization on Kodansha's YanMaga Web in May 2021. The story centers on high school student Takeru, whose new girlfriend Kaori is soon challenged by her friend Tomoko, who begins seducing Takeru. The manga's seventh compiled volume is scheduled for release on July 16.
WWWave Corporation's Deregula anime label is producing the adaptation. This label was established in June 2023 to produce anime based on intellectual property from other companies. WWWave Corporation, founded in 2010, also operates the digital manga site ComicFesta and its wwwave comics brand, often focusing on adult-oriented romance titles, and is known for the AnimeFesta programming block.
