An anime adaptation of the multimedia project Alien Stage is officially in the works. The news broke during an Animate Presents: ALIEN STAGE panel at Anime Expo 2026.
The original Alien Stage project, created by Vivinos and Qmeng, is a sci-fi music drama that previously ran for 12 episodes on YouTube from September 2022 to June 2025. LICO is set to produce the upcoming anime adaptation.
Alongside the anime, a spin-off series titled Zombie Stage began airing on June 26. The franchise has also expanded through short webcomics released on Patreon and X (formerly Twitter) since March 2023.
The story is set in a future where humanity is enslaved by aliens. A popular, brutal entertainment spectacle known as Alien Stage involves alien sponsors showcasing "pet humans" in a reality singing competition where contestants must fight for survival, with only one victor emerging each round.
