The Monster Strike universe is growing once again with the announcement of a new television anime, Mera×Death: Shinigami to Boku no Ijō na Koi. MIXI confirmed the series will premiere on January 5, 2027, with a broadcast schedule spanning TOKYO MX and ten other regional channels, alongside planned digital streaming availability.

Directing duties fall to Kenta Kushitani, whose recent credits include Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story- and Kaiju No. 8. The production is a collaborative effort between studios Qzil.la and keel. The core creative team is rounded out by series writer Daisuke Ōhigashi and character designer Tadashi Sakazaki, while the musical score is being handled by a trio of composers: Masaru Yokoyama, Kana Hashiguchi, and Natsuki Hamada.

This project follows the 2025 debut of Monster Strike: Deadverse Reloaded, which was the first entry in the franchise to secure a traditional broadcast television run. Prior to that shift, the series relied heavily on YouTube-exclusive seasons, interactive specials like Hareruya: Fated Choice, and several feature-length films.

With the franchise moving away from its roots as a web-only series, the specific episode count for this new title remains unconfirmed. Given the shift toward standard seasonal slots, it will be interesting to see if this series maintains the one-cour format established by its predecessor or if it signals a new structural direction for the brand's television presence.
