Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 has added veteran voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya to its cast. Kamiya will voice Kai Izumo, introduced as Kyoichiro's best friend and the president of the spy association. The character makes his debut in the anime's 38th episode, which aired on Sunday.
The announcement came during the "Chayamachi Oshi Festival 2026" stage event. Kamiya is known for numerous iconic roles, including Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan and Kyoraku Shunsui in Bleach.
Season 2 of the action-comedy series, adapted from Hitsuji Gondaira's manga, premiered on April 12. The series is directed by Takahiro Nakatsugawa at SILVER LINK, with Mirai Minato serving as chief director and overseeing series scripts. Returning staff include character designer Mizuki Takahashi, composer Kōji Fujimoto, and sound director Tōru Kanegae. The anime airs on MBS, TBS, and 26 affiliated channels as part of the "Nichigo" programming block and is available for streaming on Hulu.
Mission: Yozakura Family follows Taiyou Asano, a socially awkward high school student whose life is upended when he must marry Mutsumi Yozakura, the daughter of a powerful spy family, to survive the lethal protectiveness of her brother. The manga concluded its serialization in January 2025, with its 29th and final compiled volume released in March 2025. The series holds a 7.67 score on MyAnimeList from over 50,000 voters.
