The science fiction comedy manga Me and the Alien MuMu will conclude its serialization in Shonengahōsha's Young King Ours magazine on May 30, as announced by creator Hiroki Miyashita. The series, which blends alien encounters with campus life, began as a one-shot in April 2019 before launching its full run two months later.
Kodama Tales handles the English release of the manga. The story follows an alien named Mumu, a survivor of a planetary civil war, who comes to Earth to study its "home appliances" in hopes of understanding lost advanced technology. His research takes an unexpected turn when he encounters university freshman Sakurako, who becomes his unlikely accomplice.
The manga's television anime adaptation, produced by OLM, premiered in April 2025 and concluded its 24-episode run in Fall 2025. The series is known for its comedic take on alien infiltration and educational themes, drawing inspiration from the paranormal magazine Mū.
In addition to Me and the Alien MuMu, Miyashita also co-creates the Yakuza Reincarnation manga with writer Takeshi Natsuhara, which is currently ongoing and published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
