Marvel Comics has expanded its digital footprint by announcing three original vertical-scroll series during the Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Developed specifically for the WEBTOON mobile platform, these titles represent a shift toward creating content tailored for the vertical-scrolling experience rather than simply adapting existing print material.

The lineup kicks off with Tony's Girl, a reimagining of Tony Stark as a 17-year-old navigating romance with the daughter of a business rival, featuring writing by CRC Payne and art by StarBite. For fans of the Merc with a Mouth, That Time Deadpool Fell Into WEBTOON...and Found The Longest Title of All Time!!! drops the character into various webcomic genre tropes as he attempts to return to his own reality, with creative work by Ucheomaaa and Annie Huang.

Rounding out the announcements is X-Men Korea, produced by Studio LICO. This title shifts the narrative to a Korean high school student named Yeong-seo Go, who discovers his mutant abilities and enrolls in the Hoseok Academy for the Gifted, only to stumble upon a corporate conspiracy.

This slate serves as the first wave of original Marvel content for the platform, following a 2025 partnership between WEBTOON and Disney to distribute a massive library of intellectual property. With plans for additional projects already in the pipeline, the collaboration underscores a push to integrate major comic franchises into the digital-native webcomic ecosystem.
