The action-comedy anime Marriagetoxin is set to return for a second season, with production confirmed and a premiere slated for January 2027. The announcement came at the conclusion of the first season's run. The new season will broadcast on Kansai TV and Fuji TV within their new "Karnival!!" programming block.
The first season, produced by Studio Bones Film, adapted the manga of the same name by Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda. It debuted in April 2024 and was available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga itself has been serialized on Shounen Jump+ since April 2022, with VIZ Media handling its English release.
The series follows Hikaru Gero, the heir to a powerful family of assassins known as Poison Masters. Tasked with ensuring the family bloodline continues, Hikaru finds himself in an unlikely partnership with Mei Kinosaki, a marriage swindler who is also his assassination target. Together, this unusual pair embarks on a mission for marriage.
