The television anime adaptation of Jōmyaku and Mizuki Yoda's Marriage Toxin manga is officially set to return for a second season in 2027. The confirmation arrived during the broadcast of the first season's finale episode, accompanied by a newly released announcement promotional video.
The first season of Marriage Toxin premiered on April 7, airing weekly on Kansai TV and Fuji TV's "Ka-Anival!!" programming block. Crunchyroll simulcast the series for international audiences.
The story follows Hikaru Gero, the heir to the powerful Gero Family of Poison Masters, who must protect his sister from a forced heir situation. His life takes a turn when he encounters Mei Kinosaki, a skilled marriage swindler. Seeing marriage as the solution to his family's succession crisis, Hikaru impulsively enlists Mei's help to find a bride, embarking on what is described as the world's toughest mission for love.
Directed by Motonobu Hori at BONES, the anime featured script and series composition by Kimiko Ueno. Music was composed by Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi, with Kōhei Tokuoka serving as chief animation director and character designer. Yurina Hirate performed the opening theme "Kill or Kiss," and AKASAKI sang the ending theme "Shake Na Baby."
